About Us

Our Story

As a community run, private, non-profit library/resource centre, we provide uninterrupted connection and guidance to resources promoting intellectual improvement and community enrichment.

The Gallanough Resource Centre is named in memory of the Gallanough family who first bought land and settled in Thornhill in 1823. The Gallanough family played many active roles in the community for over 100 years. The building was built in 1975, and is given a heritage designation by Vaughan Heritage Conservation Districts.

Our People

The Staff

Our Gallanough Team is like no other, consists of dedicated librarians, board members and volunteers.

We have Pamela and Melanie to greet you right when you walk in, they are our librarians. They will guide you through all the available programs and resources. Fun fact: they are sisters! Try to guess who is the oldest.

Our board of directors comprised of volunteers who gives their time and expertise so that our little library can stay afloat and successful.

Our volunteers makes the day to day operation much easier, from shelving, assisting with the programs and everything in between.
